Daughter's soup and brownies

My daughter has been taking over the kitchen lately. She decided to fix us dinner. She and her dad both enjoy soup, wether it's winter or summer you can never be wrong when you serve them some warm soup.

This is my daughter's first Tortilla Soup

She also baked brownies without my assistance, well she would call me from time to time but i refused to help..:) It turn out really good actually.

Crunchy on the outside, moist on the inside...not bad for her first baking session :)

This is her first chicken noodle soup. Not bad! I think she did very well in the kitchen. Mom and Dad approved !

Rainy day, Rainbow and Treats

It was really nice to have a good rain shower last weekend. I saw this beautiful rainbow just outside the kitchen window

and in our family it is always a good time to eat something sweet or something hot. We voted to bake a cake!

I also had a pack of okra, so i decided to make some good old fashioned fried okra.

My husband requested this one, home made chicken nuggets

Might as well make some vegetable tempura, just to toss in some veggies in our meal :) would be better if i have a few varieties but i only have carrots in hand :)

The day was cold, our belly full and we loved evry moment of it!

Kern River Bike trail

My sweetheart and I have been itching to take our bike even before the spring starts. He has been scouring the internet for the perfect bike trail. ALAS! he just found one right befofe the week end.

Access is available from several city parks off of Truxtun Avenue west of Hwy 99. Trail parking is also located on the north side of the river on Manor Street.

Seasonal Restrictions:

Summers in Bakersfield can be very hot. Bring adequate fluids.

Overall, we highly recommend this trailway for the whole family. It is safe and clean. Once you get halfway through the trail, food and shops are very accessible if want to eat of rest.

A special birthday gift

I recently celbrated my 37th birthday. My ever crafty Sis-in-law lovingly made me a weekender bag. I was too excited to open them, and before i realized i had to take a picture of the beautifully wrapped gift i already rip them open.

I also got a letter from her, we used to write to each other back then before all this internet thing came out. How often do you get a hand written now adays? She complains about her hand writing now hahhaha....i think i can relate to that. I myself is getting messy with my hand writing :)

Tadaaahhhhh!!!!! A beautifully and lovingly made travel bag. She spent hours and hours in her she cave for this. I can't wait to use this soon. I will cherish this forever and will always use this nag whenever we go out of town. Thanks my dear Sis-in-law!!!!
