My vintage sears sewing machine

so this sewing machine was given to me by a very dear lady

yikes, too many attachment and i get so intimidated just looking at it

i have read the manual, yes i really did! I had it for maybe 3 years now, and i did not dare to use it.This machine was only used twice i think, so technically it's like brand new :) So many cool attachments for monograming(although the letters and numbers are not complete) some cams for cool embroidery designs and much more. I just started messing up with the machine a little bit. And i say, i'm getting the hang of it. Anyway, i found this really cute pattern for a checkbook cover. I'm working on it right now, since i'ts really easy and simple to make. I will be posting my first handmade project on this machine as soon as i finish.

chow mein, fried pork and salmon head for dinner

chow mein

salmon head with bok choy

fried pork

calamansi juice(they are like key lime) but taste better in my opinion

Chow time!
Sunday dinner was real treat! i had some fresh noodle i bought from the asian market, so i made some chow mein, also a fave. Salmon head cooked like a stew or we call it "paksiw" with some bok choy leaves, husbands fave and a few pieces of salted fried pork. A big treat i say, coz tomorrow we're back to being "vegetarian" , thats why everyone gets excited on the weekend's feast. hahahaha.....

afternoon stroll

Ginataang halo-halo or Binignit

Sunday afternoon was very pleasant, so pleasant that we decided to go for a walk at a nearby school. After all, our bellies were full. I cooked some Gintaang halo-halo in the morning, a traditonal Filipino snack. It's a mixture of (which translates the halo-halo) plantain banana, sweet potato or yam, taro root, glutinous rice and tapioca pearl, boiled in some water, coconut milk and sweetened with brown sugar. I did not put any tapioca on my Ginataan, coz my daughter never really liked them.

chicken wings

Thai chicken wings

japanese chicken wings

salad

broccoli soup

mashed potato

avocado for dessert

Bon appetite!
It was the weekend, naturally it's grocery day for us. At the meat section, i spotted those chicken wings was on sale. And since i'rts the weekend we're allowed to eat meat :) I already had an idea what i'm going to do with the wings. I found this recipe on a website and i've always wanted to try them. BTW, i have provided a link for you guys, just in case you want to try them. I guarantee you, the recipe is the best. The wings are moist and juicy and tasty to the bones, and most of all it's so easy to prepare. I've got some broccoli soup too, another fave in our family, some simple salad and mashed potato. For dessert, i have some avocado topped with condensed milk. I know some of you would think it's weird, since avocado is not a typical dessert fruit especially here in the U.S. But in the Philippines, avocado is a very delicious dessert. Just add condensed milk to sweeten the avocado (according to your taste) and mushed them! the best healthy dessert in my opinion :)

Breakfast and dinner

fried rice

fried silver fish, stir fried asian greens and rice
Just a couple of random photo from yesterday. It was really gloomy, daughter skipped school because she wasn't feeling well, she was sore all over like black and blue from her cymbals during drumline practice. Anyway, we stayed in bed till noon, just getting some R&R and to make her feel more better i fixed her favorite,  fried rice. Later for dinner i just fried some silver fish and stir fry some asian greens and of course rice!
